St. Mary's Glacier Hike

We didn't do nearly as much hiking this summer as last summer, but a friend of mine had put up pictures awhile ago of a hike her family went on to St. Mary's Glacier. We decided to check it out because it wasn't too far from Denver and the hike was actually pretty short.

Boone got a ride on Jeff's back. Even though the hike up to the glacier was
relatively short, it was pretty steep.

Across the lake from the glacier. It was crazy because people were hiking up with skis to ski on the glacier to the right and then there were people in swim suits jumping off the rocks on the left of the picture. It was a bit crazy to see the extremes.

The Robertsons

Always exploring, climbing and getting dirty. He is all boy!

The walk down

It was a short, pretty hike. Although I do have to say, Jeff and I always comment that Canada ruined us because sometimes things in Colorado seem a little underwhelming compared to what we saw in the Canadian Rockies. We actually rode a vehicle onto a glacier and saw some other world renowned glaciers in Jasper National Park, but this was a fun, easy, beautiful afternoon. And, no matter what, it is always a good day when you can get to the mountains.

I'm still catching up on so many pictures from the summer, so be sure to check back soon!
